Walk in around 12:30pm on a Friday. Not busy at all. Decor is classy. Very pretty. We go to the bar because we knew we'd be quick. The bartender is busy making a cocktail for someone. Doesn't acknowledge us. No hello or I'll be with you. Finally gets to us and we order the cheese dumplings in the tomato bisque. They are tasty. Not a lot of cheese but probably wouldn't be able to add too much to the fried dumplings. The soup is tasty but nothing special. Small menu for lunch so would need to come back for dinner to try other things. Stars are based on taste of our dish and the ambiance.

The service was fantastic, our waitress was welcoming, endearing and helpful. It was nice to experience top notch service which is a rare find these days in South OC. My friend ordered the Lobster egg Benedict and I the chilaquiles with salsa verde (mild) with an egg & carnitas. For the spicy lovers they offer a red picante salsa. We devoured our meals. Also ordered mimosas with the bottle which was nice. We didn't finish it and were able to take it home. The ambiance is super stylist and definitely social media worthy if you're into that type of thing. I hope to return for dinner.

Holy yum! I'm shocked this location isn't a more popular brunch spot, although I'm pretty sure that Benny and Mary's recently transitioned from a dinner menu to include weekend options. I can't emphasize how much I appreciate plant-based options available at Orange County restaurants. Y'all have amazing people, just catch up to Los Angeles with a more diverse food scene! Grateful that this gem is ahead of the trend. My boyfriend and I ordered the avocado towers toast (no egg), burger, and vegan burrito. Staff was accommodating and ensured my food was dairy-free, while still having options for my boy. We loved the extravagant interior, but requested the outdoors for a sunshine-soaked experience. Don't miss out on the patio here, it's poppin'! Even though Benny and Mary's doesn't have an ocean view, the food is more than worth it. Dine here for quality nomz before dipping into your weekend adventures. Smiles ensue.

I've been following this restaurant on Instagram for months and swooning over the post and reels. It seemed like a nice date night venue as opposed to one that I'd bring my kids to so when our kids were away the husband and I decided to make a date night out of it. Made a reservation through open table and we received it right away. They have a nice selection of wines but we were not drinking that night. They also have some interesting looking cocktails but an $18 a pop we opted not to get a cocktail. We started with the octopus appetizer which was so amazing and I realized after we finished it off that I didn't take a picture but I highly recommend you getting it! My only criticism would be I wish there was more of it! They offer several entrees that sounded really good we opted to get the lobster linguine and short rib osso bucco and we shared it with each other. The short rib was fall apart tender you did not need a knife. The asparagus were also tender and it was nice to see that they were trimmed at the bottom so it wasn't tough or stringy. That gravy was to die for! I was nervous for the linguine as it said it was spicy however it had just a mild little kick to it and I appreciated that unlike most Lobster linguine dishes it was not creamy or thick or cheesy. It was amazing and we definitely could have eaten more of each. For dessert we tried the bread pudding which was really good. Not overly sweet and just the right balance of bread and custard. The server was friendly and knowledgeable and all of the stuff were attentive. Constantly refilling our water, checking on how everything was. Definitely a great spot for a date night! They have valet parking but also we self parked for free and parking is right outside the restaurant so no need for a long walk. They also have a great bar area and outdoor seating.
